Introducing Generations United Federal Credit Union

Some History

In 2017, General Synod XXXI adopted a resolution, identifying economic justice needs.

“Such as the need for financial services to the historically underbanked or unbanked, as well as victims of extortionate alternative financial-service industry models such as payday lenders.”

Credit unions were identified as important contributors in the quest for economic justice.

The Need

Nationwide access to a credit union to serve the people and affiliates of the UCC has been identified by the wider church as an essential component in its overall quest for economic justice.

Meeting the Need

  • Designing responsible lending programs through lower average percentage rates (APR) than most commercial banks.
  • Providing free financial literacy courses and access to financial articles.
  • Products and services designed to boost credit scores.
  • Cash back debit cards tied to charitable programs within the UCC.
  • Surcharge free access to 30,000+ ATMs and hundreds of Shared Banking locations.
  • Checking and Savings interest rates that provide a better return than the industry average.
  • Access to Identity Theft Protection with your enrollment in a free program if you open a checking or savings account.
